Pets
Corner
We have several pets. The biggest is our newest addition (although we have kittens due in early September) but the biggest is our horse. His name is 'Trigger' and we have owned him for about a month now.
He is a 12 year old liver chestnut, 14.2hh Welsh cob-X, freeze-marked 1L3D - so if you have any news about him please email us at: ponynews@corboy.co.uk. At the moment we are bringing him up to fitness as he had grown rather rotund before he arrived at our yard. He has lots of attitude, but we have recently started Parelli training with him and things are progressing well. He is a fab, fun horse (most of the time) and we are looking forward to getting him as 100% fit, fun and healthy as we can!
One of our other animals is a guinea pig. She is 4 years old and is called Ginger, who surprise surprise, is ginger coloured! She enjoys eating fruit and vegetables, and her regular food is Gerty Guinea Pig. She lives in a hutch in the garage. We used to have three guinea pigs, but sadly Beauty (the black guinea pig in the image below) died earlier this year.
For more information about looking after guinea pigs click here Another of our pets is a bit bigger than the guinea pig. This is because he is a boxer dog. His name is Buster and he is a 4 year old brindle Boxer. Buster is a very gentle dog, however he can be rather naughty (although this adds to his character!!) We have an area for walking our dog nearby, as our house is built on what used to be a farm. We call this place ‘The Back’. We often take Buster down there. Buster loves playing with other dogs, unfortunately most are not as keen as he is! Boxers are very strong dogs. We see many dogs down The Back, most of them are very wary of Buster, but in actual fact, he is the most sociable of them all. It is just that his face (and mask) are so dark that he seems to strike terror into many dogs, who then go for him before he goes for them, which he wouldn't do anyway. He has never shown any inclination to be aggresive to other dogs. Shame, poor old Buster!!
Last and by no means least is our cat Bella (an amazing shot taken eighteen months ago when she was 2 months old!)
Bella is a Persian-X, her mother Rose 'disappointed' her breeder by producing four 'moggies' - we're rather glad she did! However, Bella has proved to be very similar to her mother though...escaping whenever she possibly could, including upstairs windows, if no doors were inadvertantly left open, which they were and we are now awaiting the tiny patter of paws (due early September 2003). We have narrowed the main suspect down to a neighbours cat called Sidney. We shall see when kitties are born if he is the culprit.
As you can see....butter wouldn't melt. Check back soon to see pics of the kittens!
